Terms of Service

Who we are, and what these terms cover

Review Loft is run by Review Loft LLC, a Texas limited liability company ("we", "us"). These terms apply when you use the Review Loft app (iPhone and web, at app.reviewloft.app) and our website at reviewloft.app. By creating an account or using Review Loft, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

Your account

• You must be at least 13 years old to use Review Loft.
• You sign in with your email address and a one-time code. Keep your email account secure; you're responsible for what happens under your account.
• Give us accurate information and don't pretend to be someone else. Keep one account per person.
• Your username and display name are always visible to other users, so don't put anything in them that you wouldn't want seen.

Your content

"Your content" means the reviews, star ratings, comments, lists, Top 10s, recommendations, profile information and photos you post.

• You own it. We don't claim ownership of anything you post.
• You give us permission to run the service with it. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display, and transmit your content to the people who are allowed to see it under your settings (public, or friends only), and to make technical copies (backups, resized images, notifications) needed to operate Review Loft. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from short-lived backups.
• You're responsible for it. Only post things you have the right to post, and that are your own opinions, not copied from someone else's work.

What's not allowed

• Harassing, threatening, bullying or targeting other people, or posting hateful content.
• Posting anything illegal, sexually explicit, or that exploits or endangers children.
• Impersonating someone, or misleading people about who you are.
• Spam, fake reviews written for pay or to manipulate scores, and automated or bulk posting.
• Collecting other people's information, scraping the app, or reverse engineering it.
• Interfering with the service or trying to get around its security or privacy controls, including the limits on what other people can see.
• Using Review Loft in a way that breaks the law or other people's rights.

Reporting and enforcement

If you see content or behavior that breaks these rules, email hello@reviewloft.app and we'll look into it. We may remove content, limit features, or suspend or end accounts that break these terms or put other people at risk, with or without warning, depending on how serious it is. We aren't required to monitor what people post, and we don't guarantee we'll catch everything.

Information from other services

Movie, TV, book, game and music information comes from third-party services, including TMDB, Google Books, IGDB, Apple Music and The New York Times, and "where to watch" availability comes from TMDB's provider data. We try to keep it accurate but it may be out of date or wrong. This product uses the TMDB API but isn't endorsed or certified by TMDB.

Review Loft links out to other websites and services (for example, to buy or stream something). Those are run by other companies under their own terms and privacy policies, and we're not responsible for them. Some links may earn Review Loft a commission if you make a purchase, at no extra cost to you.

AI features

Optional features such as review polishing and list suggestions use AI. Suggestions can be wrong or not to your taste. You decide what to keep, and you're responsible for anything you choose to post. Using these features sends the text described in our Privacy Policy to our AI provider, and a daily limit applies.

Our service

• Review Loft is provided "as is" and "as available". We work hard on it, but we don't promise that it will always be available, error-free, or that nothing will be lost.
• We may change, add or remove features, or stop the service, at any time. We'll try to give notice of significant changes.
• The Review Loft name, logo, design and software belong to us. These terms don't give you any rights to them beyond using the app normally.

Ending your account

You can stop using Review Loft any time. To delete your account and everything in it, email hello@reviewloft.app from the address you sign in with, and we'll do it within 30 days. We can suspend or end your account as described above. Sections that by their nature should continue after an account ends (like ownership, disclaimers, and limits of liability) will.

Limits of our liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Review Loft LLC isn't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to Review Loft is limited to US$100. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited.

You agree to be responsible for your own content and conduct, and to cover reasonable losses we suffer because you broke these terms or the law.

Disagreements

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you and we agree to those courts. Before filing anything, please email us so we can try to sort it out.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and for significant changes we'll tell you in the app. Continuing to use Review Loft after a change means you accept the updated terms.
